Description of the Villa

Casa Pietraluna is a luxurious holiday house which has 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, a wonderful large sitting room and a fully fitted modern kitchen/dining room. All the rooms are spacious, comfortable and fitted out to a very high standard.

This large eight cone Trullo stands at the top of its own field of olive, almond & other fruit trees, and commands a wonderful view across fields of olive groves as far as you can see. The restoration has been meticulous, retaining the best of the original features whilst adding high quality modern facilities. The beautiful stonework is now exposed and the living quarters comprise full private rooms so no-one has to sleep or cook in a quaint but uncomfortable alcove. Moreover everything is on one level with no steps and there is full normal headroom throughout. The new 49 sq metre extension comprising a large light fully fitted dining kitchen, house bathroom and the wonderful arched veranda has been built in hand-worked local stone to a style that beautifully complements the original structure.

The villa has a wood-burning fireplace and full modern gas central heating for use in Winter or on cool Autumn evenings.

Outside

The double-arched veranda provides a pleasant shaded area for dining or relaxing outside, and beyond the veranda a beautiful natural stone terrace extends along the front of the house. From this you step down into the curved garden piazzala and to the right is the barbeque terrace. In total there is more than 100 square metres of relaxing outside space to enjoy. The barbeque is built-in and there is plenty of garden furniture.

The driveway curves up in front of the house and there is ample parking for more than four cars. The excellent outside lighting is a feature of Casa Pietraluna as you will have seen on the photographs.

Sitting Room

The sitting room is a beautifully relaxing room. In the height of Summer it provides a pleasantly cool retreat from the midday sun whilst on Autumn/Winter evenings the wood-burning fire and central heating make it cheerful, warm and cosy.

A corridor through the centre of the trullo connects the sitting room with the kitchen, and all the other rooms open off this corridor.

Bedrooms

There are 3 bedrooms; the master bedroom suite, a further double bedroom and a single bedroom. The master suite comprises bedroom, dressing area and ensuite bathroom. The ensuite bathroom tiles are mosaic and the handbasin is set in a large piece of antique style marble.

Both the other bedrooms open onto the central corridor, as does the house bathroom. The showers are large and there is constant hot water at the turn of a tap, lots of storage (wardrobes & drawers) and there are plenty of towels & bedlinen. Corridor storage cupboards neatly hide away all the normal domestic needs, hairdryer, iron, hoover etc.

The airy and spacious kitchen is fully fitted - ample modern units, fan oven, gas hob, extractor fan, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher - and has a dining table which extends to seat eight. Double doors open onto the veranda for alfresco dining.
